Rental Terms & Conditions
RENTAL DETAILS
· The Renter must present a valid driver’s license and passport/ID upon vehicle pick-up.
· The rental is prepaid.
· No refund is provided if the vehicle is returned earlier than the agreed return date stated in the rental agreement.
· The Renter is required to carefully read the Rental Terms & Conditions and proceed with the reservation only if fully agrees with them.
· If, at the time of vehicle pick-up, it is determined that the Renter does not meet all stated requirements, the Company reserves the right to refuse the rental and retain the deposit.
· In case of violation of the rental agreement or suspicion of criminal or unlawful activity, the Company reserves the right to forward the Renter’s personal data to the competent authorities.
· The rental agreement overrides any prior written or verbal agreement between the Company and the Renter.
AGE & DRIVER’S LICENSE
· Minimum age: 23 years old.
· Maximum age: 70 years old.
· Drivers aged 21–23: subject to an additional charge of €5 per day
· Drivers aged 70 and over: subject to an additional charge of €5 per day
The driver’s license must:
· Be : Greek, European Union (EU), or International Driving Permit.
· Be written in Latin characters
· Have been issued at least one year prior to the rental start date
· Be a full, valid license (not temporary or probationary)
DRIVERS
· One additional driver may be added free of charge, provided they meet the required criteria.
· Only drivers registered in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.
· The Company reserves the right to request the immediate return of the vehicle if driven by an unauthorized person.
· If the vehicle carries more passengers than permitted by the manufacturer, the Renter must return it immediately upon request, without refund, and a €200 fine will apply due to excessive wear.
RENTAL DURATION
· One rental day equals 24 hours.
· The first 3 hours after the 24-hour period are charged as half a day.
· After 3 hours, a full additional rental day will be charged.
RESERVATION CHANGES
· Any changes must be requested via email in advance.
· Changes without prior written communication will not be accepted.
· The Company reserves the right not to issue refunds for changes caused by the Renter without prior notice.
RENTAL OUTSIDE MILOS
· Vehicles are not permitted to leave Milos.
· Violation of this condition results in a €500 fine.
VISIT TO KIMOLOS
Vehicle transport outside Milos is prohibited, except for Kimolos.
· The €500 fine does not apply for transport to Kimolos.
· The Renter assumes full responsibility for transporting the vehicle to and from Kimolos.
· All additional insurance options are not valid in Kimolos.
· In case of mechanical damage, immobilization, or related expenses, the Renter bears full responsibility.
· The Company is not bound by any response or assistance time commitment.
FUEL POLICY
· Fuel costs are solely the Renter’s responsibility.
· The vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pick-up. Otherwise, the Renter will be charged for the fuel difference plus a service fee.
· No refund is provided for excess fuel.
· Vehicles are delivered with a minimum of ¼ tank.
· Refueling service charge: €20 residential area / €50 non-residential area.
VEHICLE CATEGORY & MODEL
· Our company reserves the right to provide the renter with a vehicle of the same or a higher category than the one originally booked, if necessary.
· Our company reserves the right to change the vehicle type in special cases.
· The photos of the vehicles are representative and in no way binding.
· The term “or similar” is used for vehicles of the same category and the same size.
· Each reservation concerns a vehicle category, and reservations for a specific model or a vehicle of a specific color are not made
CHILD SEAT
· Infant/child seats are available upon request and subject to availability. Advance booking is strongly recommended.
· The Company does not install infant/child seats nor provide installation instructions.
· Seat designs/types may vary.
· In case of defect, responsibility lies solely with the manufacturer.
RENTAL EXTENSION & TERMINATION
· The vehicle must be returned on the date and time stated in the rental agreement.
· For an extension, the Renter must inform the Company at least 24 hours before expiration and receive approval.
VEHICLE INTERIOR
A €45 cleaning fee will apply if the vehicle is returned with stains or dirt requiring special cleaning (including but not limited to wet seats, pet hair, food or drink spills, sunscreen residue, or salt stains).
PET POLICY FOR RENTAL VEHICLES
Pets are not allowed unless the Renter has obtained prior written approval from the Company at the time of booking.
In all cases, pets must be transported in an appropriate carrier.
Transporting a pet without prior notification and written approval will result in a €200 fine, plus any biological cleaning costs required for the vehicle.
FINES
· All traffic fines and administrative penalties incurred during the rental period are solely the Renter’s responsibility.
· The Company reserves the right to forward the Renter’s personal data to the competent authorities when required by law.
LOSS OF VEHICLE KEY
· Our company has a spare key for each vehicle. In any case, if the renter does not have the car key, they must inform us immediately so that we can send them the spare key.
· The cost of making a new key is borne exclusively by the renter and ranges from €200 to €600 depending on the category of the vehicle
ACCIDENTS
· In case of accident, the Renter must notify the health services (if required), the Company, and the police immediately.
· For minor damage, the Renter may choose to continue driving if the vehicle is safe or request a replacement (subject to availability).
· If no police report is issued, the Renter must obtain the other vehicle’s plate number, driver’s details, contact number, insurance company, take photos of the scene, and inform the Company of all circumstances.

INSURANCE COVERAGE
BASIC INSURANCE
· Each vehicle is insured with basic third-party liability coverage.
· The insurance company covers any damage caused to third parties.
· In case of damage or theft caused by the renter’s negligence, the renter is liable up to the full commercial value of the vehicle at the time of the accident or theft.
· If the renter damages another vehicle, the insurance company will only cover the other vehicle; the rented vehicle is not covered under this circumstance.
· If the renter intentionally damages the vehicle, or discovers damage during the rental period, the cost of repairs is the renter’s responsibility.
Additional Insurance Options ** Valid ONLY for Milos.
**All damage must be proven not to have been caused by a violation of the Traffic Code.
**All additional insurance options will apply ONLY if the renter has accepted and signed the corresponding clause in the rental agreement.
**Each insurance option applies per damage incident and not cumulatively.
CDW
CDW limits the renter’s financial responsibility in case the rental car gets damaged.
Category A: €8 per day – Maximum amount payable by the renter €400
Category B: €10 per day – Maximum amount payable by the renter €600
Category C: €15 per day – Maximum amount payable by the renter €800
SCDW
In the event of damage to the rental vehicle, the renter’s maximum liability is €150, provided that the corresponding SCDW coverage has been selected for the rented vehicle.
Category A: €28 *** Category B: €30 *** Category C: €35 ( per day )
LW (Tire and Glass Breakage Coverage )
The renter is fully exempt from liability for any damage to the car’s tires and windows by paying €7 per day.
PAI (Personal Accident Insurance)
- The renter is not covered by PAI unless they accept and sign the relevant term in the rental agreement and pay €5 per day.
- Maximum insurance compensation payable: €12,000 (all receipts during hospitalization must be submitted to our company).
Theft Protection
The renter is fully exempt from liability in the event of vehicle theft, provided they accept and sign the corresponding clause in the rental agreement.
· Category A: €5 per day
· Category B: €7 per day
· Category C: €10 per day
The renter’s personal belongings and vehicle parts are not covered by this insurance.
INSURANCE LIMITS
· Vehicles are insured against third parties (excluding the driver) for death and bodily injury up to €1,220,000 per accident, and for property damage to third parties (excluding MilosRentCar vehicles) up to €1,220,000.
· In case of changes to the above amounts, the limits established by applicable Greek law shall apply.
· Any damage exceeding the insurance coverage limit, or excluded from coverage, is the sole responsibility of the renter.
BASIC ROAD ASSISTANCE (Included)
Covers :
*Vehicle transport in case of mechanical breakdown or immobilization, provided the issue was not caused by negligence, misuse, or driving in unauthorized areas.
ROAD ASSISTANCE PLUS
The renter can upgrade to Roadside Assistance for an additional €5 per day.
Roadside Assistance Plus does not replace any type of additional insurance. All the following services are charged separately unless the renter has accepted and signed the corresponding clause in the rental agreement. The charges are determined by the Analysis Service.
· Key Lock / Lost Key Service – The cost of creating a new key in case of loss or damage is the renter’s sole responsibility.
· Battery Jump-Start – Any damage to the battery due to intent or negligence is the renter’s sole responsibility.
· Flat Tire – The cost of a new tire is the renter’s sole responsibility for tire damage caused by intent, negligence, or driving in unauthorized areas, as specified in the rental terms.
· Fuel Delivery – Fuel and supply charges are the renter’s sole responsibility.
· Towing Service
*Exceptions: Contractual vehicles in AREA B – towing fee €200.
*Any damage to the vehicle is the renter’s sole responsibility.
VEHICLE USAGE
* Driving vehicles where the map shows that you are off-road is not allowed.
* Visiting the western and eastern side of the island with a standard vehicle is not allowed.
* On the western and eastern side of the island there is no insurance coverage for standard vehicles, and any damage to these vehicles will be charged to the renter. 4x4/SUV categories are excluded.
* 4x4/SUV vehicles are allowed to drive on unpaved roads – yellow lines on the map – only if the vehicles remain within the road boundaries.
MOTO / ATV / BUGGY * RENTAL CRITERIA
REQUIREMENTS
· Minimum age: 23 years
· Accepted licenses: Greek, European Union (EU), International Driving Permit for non-EU citizens
The driver’s license must:
· Be written in Latin characters
· Have been issued at least one year prior to the rental start date
· Be a full, valid license (not temporary or probationary)
LICENSE TYPE
· 50cc scooters: License A or B
· 125cc & 150cc: License A or A1
· 200cc: License A
· ATVs & Buggy: License B
All international licenses must show equivalent classification.
INSURANCE FOR MOTO / ATV / BUGGY
· All motos, ATVs, and buggies include basic liability insurance.
· It is not possible for the renter to upgrade the insurance.
CANCELLATION POLICY
· 30 or more days before the renter’s arrival date, the deposit will be refunded to the renter (any expenses are borne by the renter).
· 29 to 15 days before the renter’s arrival date, 50% of the deposit will be refunded (any expenses are borne by the renter).
· 14 or fewer days before the renter’s arrival date, no deposit will be refunded to the renter.
· Automatic reservation cancellation for payment by deposit within 3 days if the deposit has not been confirmed.
· In case the renter wants to cancel their reservation, they must necessarily send an email to our company.
· Automatic cancellation of the reservation if the required deposit confirmation has not been received within 4 days.
· If the renter does not show up to pick up the car on the agreed date and time without prior written or telephone notice, the company will cancel the reservation after 3 hours.
· The company has the right to charge the renter one day of rental corresponding to the category of the car that has been reserved. The Court of Syros has authority to resolve any disputes.
PRICING DISCLAIMER
We would like to inform you that, despite our continuous efforts to ensure that all prices published on our website are accurate, occasional errors may occur due to system failure. In such a case, we will notify you as soon as possible if there is an error in the price of your booking, and then you can decide whether you still wish to proceed with the reservation. If you decide to cancel the booking, you will receive a full refund. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your reservation as canceled.
Privacy Policy:
The processing of data provided by the renter is related only to the procedures necessary for the reservation, and no further transfer or use of data is conducted.
